General practitioner, Dr. Gary Edelson grew up in Holmdel, New Jersey. He completed his undergraduate degree at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. Upon graduation, he attended veterinary school at St. George’s University, Grenada. In 2008, he completed his clinical year at University of Florida, School of Veterinary Medicine. During his veterinary education, the Pfizer Corporation recognized Dr. Edelson for his efforts in emergency medicine.
Dr. Edelson has special interests in dentistry, canine and feline diabetes and emergency medicine. Dr. Edelson provided a peer review of Dr. Jan Bellows book: "Feline Dentistry, Oral Assessment, Treatment and Prevention" in 2010. Additionally, he assisted Dr. Bellows in composing and reviewing numerous dental presentations for national veterinary symposiums. He has recently lectured at a national breeders converence on dentistry.
Dr. Edelson is a memeber of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), Florida and Broward County Veterinary Medical Associations. He is currently practicing general medicine and worked with a board certified veterinary dentist and a boarded canine/feline practitioner.
He is married to Liz Edelson and at home they have two four-lgged friends. They are Carib, a labrador retriever and Soco, a yorkshire terrier. Dr. Edelson enjoys playing ice hockey and golf in his spare time in addition to practicing magic and scuba diving.
Dr. Edelson’s enjoyment comes from the surprises and challenges that arise each day. Whether it is calming a client’s anxieties, treating a medical problem or seeking the friendly faces of clients and pets, Dr. Edelson truly enjoys the practice of veterinary medicine.
